Who is courtney force dating
That’s not nice. Not nice at all. If he was in prison for 16 years, I don’t suppose Dodo will say she was a nun for exactly that long?
Even if it was a joke, it was still in bad taste.
“I think she said she was attracted by his gentle nature at the time.”
Dodo has also once said that Lui Fong is intelligent and has a lot of thoughts. Maybe this also attracted her to him.
Lui Fong only has himself to blame if he really was in jail 16 years. He didn’t even have a marriage certificate to bind him.
If he really did say that he felt imprisoned for 16 years, that’s inappropriate and disprectful of him to do so. No matter what the cause of breakup is, talking bad about your ex is not a bad reflection on that person, but on yourself. It’s like talking bad about your former boss in a job interview. And especially in their celebrity status, it makes it even more inappropriate to reveal your personal life with the whole world.
Call me old fashioned if you want, but in a relationship like this, I always think the woman sacrificed more than the man. I’m sure everyone knows that Dodo was the more dominant one in the relationship. And although he may have felt imprisoned, I’m sure she didn’t sacrifice any less than he did and tried to compromise with him to try to make it last for 16 years. 16 years is not a short time. Especially for a woman. She has given so much of her prime years for this relationship, so she was definitely serious about it. I dislike the fact that he now boasts about how 3 elegant women are pursuing him. So here he is, just moving on. Not a big deal for men even when they reach their 40’s or 50’s. I know Dodo must also have a strong personality and is lucky to have friends around her to support her and spend time with her to help her move on as well. She is also moving on and trying to enjoy life. But I am sure she is very hurt with this breakup. She looks slimmer and slimmer everyday, and you can tell she has gone under the knife and she doesn’t look natural anymore. She’s trying to hold on to her youth, which we know cannot last. And it will be awhile, if ever, before she will find another soulmate.
“Call me old fashioned if you want, but in a relationship like this, I always think the woman sacrificed more than the man.”
If it’s the woman who doesn’t want marriage and choose to have a relationship this way, is it still the woman who sacririced more than the man?
“I dislike the fact that he now boasts about how 3 elegant women are pursuing him. So here he is, just moving on. Not a big deal for men even when they reach their 40?s or 50?s. I think she has already gone under the knife even before the break up. She’s an entertainer. Most entertainers will want to hold on to their youth be it man or woman, heartbreak or no heartbreak.
And do you believe that a person who has moved on and isn’t bitter will boast like that? I believe both parties were hurt in this breakup. It’s a 16 years relationship. I believe both have made effort and compromised to make the relationship last so long and both were serious.
It’s still very classless of Lui Fong to bad mouth his ex like this though. He shouldn’t have done that. I think Dodo’s response is very mature and classy.
I don’t know the details of their relationship and if it was she that didn’t want to get married, or if he was the one that didn’t want to settle down. I’m not sure. However, I think even if they did get did get married, and then got divorced, I still think the women loses more than the man. Again, I’m thinking very traditionally. For men, turning 40-50 doesn’t matter. They can still snatch a 20 year old girl to be their girlfriend, but for a 40+ year old women, that wouldn’t be easy for them to find a mate. Because most single men, unless they really want a more mature women, would still go for the prettier, younger women if they could. She doesn’t have her youth anymore that she gave within the relationship for 16 years. I’m not saying Lui Fong didn’t give up a lot for their relationship too, but I think it will be much easier for him to start a new relationship in his position than Dodo will.
No matter which was more hurt in their relationship, which I’m sure they both were, I think Lui Fong didn’t handle the situation maturely and appropriately. Like you have mentioned, Dodo handles herself with maturity and grace even after such a breakup and even responding to his comments.
If my partner came home drunk even just once, I’d definitely set guidelines/rules since this kind of behaviour shows great immaturity and a lack of love and respect for both parties. it seems as if Dodo tried to lead a healthy lifestyle while LF didn’t care about himself or his partner.
It sounds as if he suffered from “little man” syndrome – Cantonese translation for a man who tries to be a real man but can’t so becomes a chauvinist instead (my understanding of the term).
No offense but this relationship reminds me of Courtney Cox and David Arquette’s relationship. In both, the females are more mature and prefers a quiet/stable lifestyle whereas the males are drawn to the bright lights and rowdy atmospheres. Then one day, the both Courtney and Dodo don’t want to babysit their significant others anymore…that’s why nowadays love is never enough to keep a relationship going.
sometime it just a joke. we’re vietnamese and sometime we joke like that. someone ask my husband ” how your life,, he seriously answer: ” lifetime Jail”
Come on! dont blame her. She is the victim here. You are not good. You cheated behind her too.You should be kicked out earlier
There goes my impression of Lui Fong. 40++ and saying stuff like that?? I remember he said something about not wanting to get married for the rest of his life during one of his concerts many years ago. And I thought that wasn’t nice at all since he was dating Dodo then.
He said that because Dodo was the one who didn’t want marriage and children. Dodo has an unhappy childhood. She didn’t believe in marriage and she didn’t want to bring children to an unhappy world.
So, I have always felt that in this relationship, Lui Fong compromised a lot. When he said in a concert that he has an agreement with Dodo that they won’t have marriage and children, I always believe that it’s mostly Dodo’s idea and Lui Fong love her enough to agree to it.
Comparing a relationship to jail? Well..that’s not a very nice thing to say. However, DoDo seemed to have handled the situation quite well though.
Honestly, there are many people that don’t appreciate their partner coming home drunk and MANY PEOPLE encourage their bf/gf to exercise more or try to maintain a healthy lifestyle. That’s because they care about their loved ones health! I think it’s ridiculous [if he did say it] that trying to enforce good lifestyle habits is like putting someone in jail. The things that were mentioned that Dodo asked him to change were not unreasonable at all.
Perhaps, there were other things that she asked him to do that caused him feel the way he does? Even if there was, the comment is still inappropriate.
Women seem to have all these little rules around the household, expectations on cleanliness and order, etc. Many of the men I know are slobs and don’t clean themselves properly, nevermind the house. When you’re fighting about these rules around the house, the hours coming home, and other mundane stuff, any romance can lose steam. Living together is tough.
And when you are in a long-term relationship, your partner will have an effect on the friends you tend to keep close, whether he mixes better with a certain group of friends and your friends’ boyfriends. Those will be the friends you’ll end up seeing the most.
Being in a relationship is about compromise. To lessen arguments, one partner will tend to bite the tongue more to settle differences. But that doesn’t mean that the person who acquiesced is totally okay with it. If the tabloids are true, perhaps Lui Fong said yes on many matters that he was not able to completely let go of and he was never truly happy. Since he did not lead a lifestyle that met his priorities (freedom), he felt he was in jail. It may have been an extreme comparison, but perhaps that is how it felt.
I believe that the netizens who lashed out at Lui Fong may have been mainly women because men often make these kind of statements that being in a relationship takes away their freedom. Women tend to have a lot of little rules around the house, where stuff needs to be put, etc. (Just think of differences between our moms and dads). Maybe it is the maternal instinct inside all women to keep their “nests” clean and orderly. Most male species come and go and are not responsible for the “nest.” Men have been trained to follow household rules first by their moms, then live-in girlfriends, and finally wives. If there were a few women in these roles along the way, it’s been trying to adjust to a lot of different rules along the way. No wonder most men hate it.
To make a long-lasting relationship be happy, I believe that aside from sharing the same values, interests, financial habits, etc. Lifestlyle habits (social, home life, cleanliness) are very important as well. Tough stuff to make it all work.
Women will do that to ya. Put you in shackles and make you jump through hoops just to get some booty.
Men only get nice things because women like them. Women like nice cars, so men buy nice cars. If a man could have sex in a cardboard box, he wouldn’t buy a house.
Ekinfan, poor men still have sex and get married. Do rich men have more sex than poor men? I don’t think so. Plus wanting a nice car and other materialistic habits can be driven by self-desires alone, no need to justify based on perceptions of what the opposite sex wants. In fact, I’ll say that there’s a competitive spirit among some men to drive the nice cars.
A guy’s car is the last thing to impress me. His brain is a lot more attractive. A strong man doesn’t need props in his game.
oOoOo I like that Jayne. Any way I can take a peek at your FB profile pic? -_^
So, the only reason you want a nice house, car, clothes, etc is because you wanna get laid? Not because you work hard in school, life, and work, and deserve it? Wow, you certainly have a low opinion of men!
He always has. He compared men to dogs last time iirc.
Ekinfan you’re so right! You know why? Men are mindless sex obsessed idiots, as long as they get what they want they’ll act like mindless zombies. Women on the other hand has ambition and wants and needs and aspiration, even if for a car, or as you put it nice cars. Without such idiots, how can women thrive eh?
Ekinfan, you’re indeed a lost cause.
What a nasty thing to say. After you’ve been together for 16 years, I’d think you’d at least have some respect for each other… at the very least, not trash each other in public. Kudos to Dodo for taking the high road.
“He even asked his friends to back up his claims that each time he went out, it was for a friend’s birthday.”
This is totally not healthy in a relationship. Where’s the trust.
Is he suggesting Dodo was THAT domineering? I kinda believe she is. Their relationship, her rules. Doesn’t mean he can now say what he said though.
i think dodo deserves a better man…
i frankly do not understand what dodo saw in lui fong…
16 years spent in a relationship and this was the result…what a waste!
How distasteful is it to disrespect the woman the woman that you were once with not for one or two years but 16. I do believe that Dodo might be domineering as she is very ambitious and clear headed woman, but kudos to her for her replies to LF’s assault. I think he won’t have the guts to say that to her.
Why must people hate each other after they break-up? It must have once been really nice or else they wouldn’t be with each other for so long, so cherish what you shared and move-on.
wow – everyone is so sensitive. Lui Fong was just joking around.
Dodo didn’t even take it to heart and it’s probably because she knows Lui Fong won’t say such a thing or meant it in the content of the press/public.
Yea, I agree and honestly, we don’t really know the true story and details behind it…. Maybe Lui Fong was only kidding?? I have heard about their relationship for many years and although I am not a big fan of Lui Fong, I have heard many good things about him. ALso, it didn’t seem that Dodo was that offended by it since I am guessing that she knows him so well that it isn’t as serious as we make it out to be.
Relationships/marriages come and go so I guess we should not be so surprised or shocked anymore… Fate puts 2 people together and can also bring people apart… Good luck to the both of them and may they both find happiness again one day…
I also want to add that I don’t know if I would want to be with someone for 16 years without marrying them.. WOW, that is a LONG time….I also don’t believe in being in a relationship for so long and not being officially married…
LMAO… I don’t believe he was serious when he said this, he tends to joke around with a straight face, just check out those interviews and stuff he had participated on, especially on TVB when Dodo was around too lol
