Kola Boof: Billionaires Prefer *Black* Women

syndicated with permission of Kola Boof from The Sexy Part of the Bible blog

One thing I learned while living with Osama Bin Laden (against my will in 1996)…is that while the sayingВ goes “gentlemen prefer Blondes“…..a less talked about phenomenon is that BILLIONAIRES marry Black В women.

This year alone, we have SEVEN high profile engagements between billionaire men and what are supposedly (according to Western culture) the most undesirable women on earth—Black women. В And the fact that these women are more “authentically Black” (their genes more African looking and less

From CEO of Norton Anti-Virus Peter Norton marrying Gwen…to Naomi Campbell andВ Janet Jackson snagging two of the richest men in Russia and the Arab world….to Mellody Hobson and George Lucas….to Africa whereВ Black billionaires in Uganda, Algeria and Burkino Faso married “educated” business-owning Black African women…..the phenom is glaring. But the media is not making a big ta-do about it.

They’d rather do books & t.v. specials about how unwanted & unmarried the masses of Black women are—which isn’t a suprise considering Hollywood and the MEDIA have worked the last 100 years to cast the image of Black women as negative, unattractive, maid-driven and forbidden. В

Even Black men’s media in America scorns and rejects the Black woman’s image as “rat-like,” non-status worthy and not fit for procreation.

After all….in a White supremacist country the goal is to make White babies, not Black ones. So the problem with Black women is that their wombs produce Black babies–and they are literally devalued in the dating pool for that alone—then accused of being “angry, bitter, ugly” merely because our society doesn’t want to admit that the onus is placed on producing LIGHT/MIXED/WHITE people and demonizes the production of dark skin and actual Black people.

It’s true. Yet in the face of all that hatred for Black women and their Black baby-making wombs….Billionaires (and not just billionaires, but the world’s most powerful men IN GENERAL such as President Barack Obama )…..are still choosing BLACK women.

(NORTON SECURITY creator Peter Norton and his new wife, Gwen—-his 2nd Black Wife).

When I first wrote about my experiences with Bin Laden ten years ago, I also wrote about Condoleeza Rice being chased across North Africa by Moamar Khadafi…I wrote about the song he wrote about her. (*Yes, long before the Western media reported Arab male leaders’ obsesion with Condoleeza…I wrote about it in my autobiography).

And during the time that I worked for Khadafi at White Bride I watched one Arab billionare after the other come and go with tall, chocolate African mistresses (and sometimes even wives) in tow.

Back then, Palestinian leader Arafat had a Black American mistress who was also a porn star. В Some of you will call out her name. I won’t. But I remember him buying her a mansion in Italy and an apartment buildingВ in London. The following year, when Osama Bin Laden released me, he gave me a farm in Kenya and a house in South Africa. В Though I didn’t want or like Bin Laden…two otherВ men that I’d dated during my era as an actress-model in North Africa were also billionaires….one of them married a Black woman, the other married a Korean.

Luckily I went on to marry a wonderful Black Man,В a marine, Simon Palacio, who during our 10 year marriage became a millionaire selling his own electronics to the U.S. State Department!

So, you see, this is the other side of the coin…one that isn’t talked about.

Black Women may not get the hoodrat athletes and rappers. But we are very popular with BILLIONAIRES. В Bill Gates once dated a Mixed Race Black woman….and t oday, Warren Buffet, Ted Turner and Donald Trump all have Black mistresses….aside from the 7 marriages scheduled for Billionaires and Black women in 2013.

В

I’m not surprized. The ‘average’ BW was raised to be loyal, even to a fault. Many nonbm would WANT to shower her with ‘things’.Also the average BW had to work when other women could stay home with their children years ago.lt just amazes me; humph, not ALL nonbm mill;billionaires want the ‘phony’ blondes.

I’m not saying this to be RACIST, because I have stepdaughters who arent black; i’m just saying what the ‘status quo’ is and what the Hollywood crowd promotes

Having said that: these guys need to WIFE UP their ‘mistresses’ like Trump, turner, etc. or she is just another ‘house slave’..the best title is Mrs….LOL

I don’t think the “slave” title is necessary. В Those ladies could definitely go the route that Rupert Murdoch’s Asian mistress turned wife went.

@cocoababeВ В @zipporahВ Excuse me….I have been both a Wife and a Mistress. I married a millionaire, Simon Palacio. I enjoyed those 10 years being a wife. But I also enjoyed being a mistress. Not every woman wants to be married. Some women like being the mistress…in many ways, it’s better than being the wife.

I wasn’t knocking the mistress label but the “house slave” label рџ™‚

I believe about Ted Turner but can Donald Trump and Warren Buffet be proven?

@zabethВ Donald Trump had an affair with Robin Givens back in the 90’s. He also took Naomi Campbell on a few dates. He’s had Omarosa. Currently, he purchased a brand new car for Kiran Somdu, the Sudanese brain surgeon. Warren Buffet has several black women that he keeps on C-status. **We have to remember that some women prefer to be mistresses and “friends with benefits”….I’ve been both a wife and a mistress. I loved being a wife. But it’s easier being the mistress & it’s a lot of fun. Women with their own businesses to run especially don’t always want a full marriage.

В I will agree sometimes the mistress will have it a little better.В For her own sakeВ the mistressВ should have her own job orВ business.

В I will agree sometimes the mistress will have it a little better.В For her own sake the mistress should have her own job or business.В Wow, Buffet has a big appetite.В That must have been some car Trump purchased.

В I saw Trump at a Serena Williams tennis match.В He complained that his bw friend only wanted Serena to win because she was a bw.

When you control your own income, and the income of others, you don’t have to be as preoccupied with what other people think. You can do your own thing and blaze your own path.

It really depend on the individual themselves, the majority of black women who marry billionaires are mostly educated themselves and or are writers, business people. etc.

‘Black Women may not get the hoodrat athletes and rappers. But we are very popular with BILLIONAIRES’.

I’ve always thought that middle eastern men preferred black women.В Just the other day, an adonis of middle eastern decent was flirting with me behind counter at the gas station (wouldn’t be suprised if he owned it). He was quite forwawrd in his approach but not salacious.В Alas, he was just 27 years old; too young for me. LOL

It’s funny that the media would rather concentrate on Kimye instead of these beautiful, committed relationships with black women. I was already aware of most these relationships pictured above.

Thank you Kola for reminding black womenВ that we are very, very, very desirable.

YAY!! I like this article!! I believe inВ unions like this because a BILLIONAIRE can have whoever they want with all the money power and access in the world! So you know whoever they choose must be the real deal!! I love the quote from Horowitz, it sounds genuine and realtistic!! Black women are loyal and loving, something you learn to be when you are the most hated, and abused women on earth!! They can’t keep us down!!

“Black women are loyal and loving, something you learn to be when you are the most hated, and abused women on earth!!”

lol i was with you until this point. seeing as how I have been described as loyal and trustworthy and do not feel this way about bw’s condition, I think there are other things we can point to that have a made us such a dependable group of women рџ™‚

@cocoababeВ Most hated, most feared and most imitated, its the truth. Sometimes hate and abuse can soil or destroy a person, but then sometimes it teaches us to be better people when we have learned from how badly we have been treated.

@BrokenHeartNSoul13В В @cocoababeВ Accepted as truth for some, but not the experience of all.В I am loyal and trustworthy, but not because I’ve been hated, feared or mistreated.В Even though we’re all BW, we all have unique experiences. В My truth is based on my experiences.В Not to discount the experiences of others, but I don’t see my condition as being lowly because I’m a black woman.

“Accepted as truth for some, but not the experience of all.В I am loyal and trustworthy, but not because I’ve been hated, feared or mistreated.”

Our “loyalty” is also the cause of a lot of our pain.

I’m glad she brought up Dr. Rice. В I’m always amused when people try to come for Condi because she hasn’t married. AS IF she didn’t choose that life for herself. She literally has been chased all over the world for attention from some of the world’s most powerful men including billionaire entrepreneurs and country leaders.

Her Facebook page is on fire because of this piece. It’s quite sad!

В one of the people on the page suggested putting a ‘bullet in her brain’.В This person was of all people, a black male.В

I don’t have any quarrels about disagreeing with somone’s philosphy but encourging violence (black on black crime), it is tulyВ a shame.

@mzsunshineВ It’s crazy. I’m reading some of the comments now and can only hope this is their online, I can say whatever I please while hiding behind a computer screen face. If not, we have a long way to go.

@mzsunshineВ ” one of the people on the page suggested putting a ‘bullet in her brain’.В This person was of all people, a black male.”

Of course.В A lot of angry BM have chosen to take their anger out on BW, because the “Black Community” has given them permission to.

Kudos Ms Kola, this is a truth that we black women need to take to heart from here on out!!В When a man is at the top he wants somebody that is genuine and true–not grabbing for thatВ fat wallet.В Anybody can be a trophy/stepford but it takes a real woman to value others while maintaining her self respect….

@PamelaFosterВ The men I interviewed stated that time and again, Pamela. They felt that Black women were less “golddigging” and less interested in their money. They felt that black women were more humble and genuinely their friends whom they could trust.

I was smiling throughout that post. Thanks В Ms Kola.

рџ™‚ This post gives meВ motivationВ for me to become successful in my career and love life.

Lol…this reminds me of something I read online where some woman said that the rich men only marry white women (and the occasional Asian woman)…I started laughing because I knew that this was not true!

@onmywayupВ Among millionaires…Black women do not fare to well statistically. It’s the upper echelon of Billionaires (and there aren’t too many of those). But for some strange reason, that group marries Black women at an unusually high rate.

@onmywayupВ I starting laughing too. most rich men perfer exotic women especially black women

В exactly and that why ths particular post is sooo refreshing. To have pictures of powerful men marrying/married to black women.

I love this. Thank you for sharing this. Every time I read something inspirational about a black woman’s love life I know that it can happen for me and others as well. Simply beautiful!

I swear Kola you need your own “E! True Hollywood Story” episode lol. You have so much info about celebs and the rich that I and others would LOVE to hear more about, especiallyВ those stories pertaining to bw рџ™‚

@cocoababeВ The MEDIA has deliberately avoided acknowledging as much as they can. The message in my books & my work is too Pro-BlackWoman, it’s too Non-Western.

Only thing I woulld not do myself, I wouldn’t date or marry and old man. George Lucas is GEORGE LUCAS but he’s 68 years old! He is a geriatric!! I know if i was a 70 year old woman and tried to flirt with young men they would think i’m gross, so why should i like old men or let them have me? I don’t like seeing old men with black women, it makes it look like all we can get are men who are old/washed upВ now and can’t get a women because he’s a grandpa! Just my opinion.

@BrokenHeartNSoul13 But Mellody is 43. Still a pretty big gap, though. For an old guy, George has a gorgeous head of hair, and he’s not “gross” lolz

В Mellody looks young and she’s not really grandma though. I just always thought it looked bad when you see OLD MEN chasing black women. Its like they’re saying, “well, i’m old and washed up now so as a last resort and because they are easier, i’m going to get a black woman.” Ewww.

@BrokenHeartNSoul13 What you often see is older WM who, in their prime, were afraid of the social consequences of IR dating during the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s and now that they have come of age, a change of the times, and the gift of being old enough to not give a phuck, doing what they’ve always wanted to do in the first place.

@BrokenHeartNSoul13В В @Christelyn Old men just love to chase young women PERIOD–black, white, they don’t care. When men get old and if they have money AND they aren’t married…lol

@Christelyn Yes, I see that alot!! But its still wrong to me, because its like someone thinks “hey, when you’re an old man and most women don’t want you, go get a black woman because they’re so love starved they will marry someone old enough to be their great grandfather!” LOL

@JamilaВ В @BrokenHeartNSoul13В В @Christelyn В Some women actually prefer older men.В I did when I was young and single!В But, ultimately I decided to marry someone closer to my age.

В I just don’t want women to think that they should marry an old man, (a real grandpa) in order to find love and commitment. Of course an old man will want you and say he loves you because he’s desperate and old no one wants him anymore not because he loves you truly! LOL! When you’re 70 its hard to get a dateВ I imagine, so of course they will say they love you! You’re old and ugly to most, so you gotta hurry and get what you can especially if you’re lonely and old!В В This is why I do not trust older and OLD men with relationships. They don’t want you, they just want your youth out of desperation.

It just doesn’t make sense to me toВ be with someone who is older because if YOU as a woman were old the guy would not want you and would call you ugly!! So why should you like an old man who wouldn’t look twice at you if the shoe was on the other foot? I won’t be finding mr. right at the retirement home that’s for sure!

@BrokenHeartNSoul13В В @Christelyn The way I see it, both sides are getting what they want:

The young woman knows that the man is dating will probably be dead soon, so she chooses to enjoy it while she can and save up her money–’cause after he’s dead she’ll still be young and then she can go looking for a husband that she can have kids with.

The old man knows you can’t take the money with you. So why not use your money to have a good time while you are still alive (and for an old man “having a good time” means that you keep a PYT (i.e., a “pretty young thing) on your arm.) I don’t know about you, but if I’m 90 years old, have one foot in the grave, and I have no husband but I’ve got millions in the bank, I’m going to use my money to enjoy myself before I die. And yes, when I say enjoy myself that might mean I end up having a 30-something year old to keep me company and I “help him out” with his bills every month.

В In my observation, I see older white men with asian women.В Now, I know what I have ‘heard’ to be some of the reasons. e.g. they married for citizenship, they are more loyal to their husbands but I am going to take the high road.

Maybe one of the reasons is because in the Asian culture being old is not considered ‘gross’. The elderly hold an esteemed status in most Asian countries while ‘youth’ (even though fleeting) is highly esteemed in the western culture.

В Some older peopleВ really could use some assistance with paying his or herВ bills, internet, etc.В Simply put companionship.

В Some older people really could use some assistance with paying his or her bills, internet, etc.В Simply put companionship.

It is not that easy to get a bw.

@BrokenHeartNSoul13В В @The Working Home KeeperВ В @JamilaВ В @Christelyn В

You completely missed the point of the article. No one is telling BW to marry just any old man or any man for that matter. This article is about black women who look like everyday black women (dark-skinned, full lips..) who society claim are undesirable and unworthy of marriage, marrying very wealthy and established men.

Whether he is 35 or 65 you go where you are loved and adored. Whenever a black woman appears to be happy with a white man, black people gotta find things to pick at…he’s too short, pale, old.

I would rather sit in a mansion with an “old”В millionaire,В then live in a busted studio with Junior, В while he get his “rap” gig in order…..we need to get it together!

I am referring toВ most otherВ culture men.В But, things are changing.

@JamilaВ В @BrokenHeartNSoul13В В @Christelyn В Precisely, almost 90 year old Hugh Hefner just married a 26 year old a week ago!

@The Working Home KeeperВ В @JamilaВ В @BrokenHeartNSoul13В В @Christelyn I preferred older men, too. My Grandmother and all my Aunts all married older men, and guess what? Not a divorce among them. All became homeowners and raised successful, well-adjusted children. My late husband was significantly older than me, and he treated me WONDERFULLY.

@Christelyn В В @BrokenHeartNSoul13В Chubby Robin Thicke! I keep saying it. He may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but George Lucas is not unattractive at all. Clearly his wife thinks so.В

Can we not forget that as women we have *choices* if you don’t want an old man, then don’t date one. That doesn’t mean others shouldn’t. This is just a few examples, but definitely not the only ones. There are other high profile IR couples that are closer in age.

Lets not jump to conclusions based on one article. The information is out there.

@VintageNarcissaВ В @Christelyn В В @BrokenHeartNSoul13В I don’t think he’s ugly either. Just old. If I were 50 or something like that and rich and educated like Ms. Hobson, I wouldn’t turn him down either (if he asked me out).

@onmywayupВ В @VintageNarcissaВ В @Christelyn В В @BrokenHeartNSoul13В I was surprised to learn George Lucas is pushing 70. He’s got the white hair and is clearly no spring chicken, but he doesn’t have the hard lines or cragginess you see in a lot of men that age. Anyway, Janet Jackson’s fiance is a decade younger so there you go…

@onmywayupВ В @VintageNarcissaВ В @Christelyn В В @BrokenHeartNSoul13В

Very old imo. But they’re both old enough to choose.

“I know if i was a 70 year old woman and tried to flirt with young men they would think i’m gross, so why should i like old men or let them have me?”

lol who exactly is forcing you to like older white men again?

“I don’t like seeing old men with black women, it makes it look like all we can get are men who are old/washed upВ now and can’t get a women because he’s a grandpa!”

My THINKING is that В it shows is that bw areВ desirableВ by men of ALL AGES. See, when you change your perception, your reality looks a bit different рџ™‚В

I know people like to crack jokes about older whites being racist/bigoted, but I have personally had no problems with older whites. Whenever older men hold the door open for me, call me “ma’am” or “young lady”, or complement me on my hair or outfit, it reminds me that there was a time when MOST men had manners.

Older men are not asВ desperate, ugly and undesirable as you think. It may not be for you, but don’t assume they court and marry us out of desperation…..not true at all.

I have to crack up at this. В You must be very young.

There is a 13 year age difference between my husband and myself. When you are older those numbers become less and less meaningful and life experience and character more so.

You point out what Ms. Hobson looks like next to Mr. Lucus which is a very superficial assessment of who she is. That is young girl thinking. Ms. Hobson is more than her looks. В She is educated, grounded, goal oriented and accomplished. В A women like that requires a man who can handle that securely and with out the need to hold back all that she is so as to not out shine him and baby his ego. She has found that in her future husband. В

You may not like black women with older men of any race and specifically white men but that is really your problem. You may think that these women have settled. You fail to see the attraction. В You also fail to see what the older man brings to the woman’s table who made that choice. Maturity, gravitas, life experience, intellectual creativity, patience and yes experience as lovers that younger men have to learn. We will not even list the social and financial pluses that can come with such a match.В

There are those among us who want more than arm candy. We want someone who can hold a conversation who has seen a thing or two in life and does not pout when our career sometime have to take center stage. Some of us require an adult and are laughing all the way to a quality life when we find one.

@Brenda55В В @BrokenHeartNSoul13В Bravo Brenda!В Well said!

@Brenda55 @BrokenHeartNSoul13 amen but you know the kind of wisdom you’re talking only comes with age for many.

@Brenda55В В @BrokenHeartNSoul13В There are men old enough to be my dad who I have a major crush on. I have no shame. “The older the fiddle, the sweeter the tune”, or so it goes. Some older guys are sexy. *.*

@Brenda55В В @BrokenHeartNSoul13 “You must be very young. There is a 13 year age difference between my husband and myself.”

That’s an important point. The older a person is, the less an age difference between that person and their partner really means.

There is a often a huge emotional, developmental, financial, etc difference between a couple where one person is 25 and the other is 18. But a difference in age between a 45 year old and someone who is say, 59, means virtually nothing.

В I agree.В Age difference is not that big a deal if the twoВ individuas do not wish to have children and they are simply seeking companionship.

В My actual point is i don’t think its fair with certain relationships when old men are involved. They just want to use you for your youth. I couldn’t look at a 70 year old man and say i feel horny or hot or in love with him!! yuck!! Even if he was rich i couldn’t force myself to do it! I’m not Anna NicoleВ lol! And I get upset because i am young and i hate it when old ugly men TRY to hit on me!! eww.

@BrokenHeartNSoul13В В @Brenda55В I think I understand what you mean and we did have a “sugar daddy” article awhile back.В

However, understand that (1) not every older man paired with a younger woman is a sugar daddy and (2) again, some women really do like older men and also (3) some women are not opposed to a “sugar daddy” situation in any case.

It’s really a matter of different strokes for different folks.

@BrokenHeartNSoul13 these are two billionaires, who else are they going to date. There’s two sets of wm that bw usually pass up b/c many of us are so shallow and don’t get it. Young nerds and older wm, two of the wealthiest sets of men in the U.S. Black women need to wake up, I’m sure Ms. Hobson is probably not worried about what broke, unmarried, unattached bw think of her marrying him. She picked smartly, she picked her equal. I see bw I see too many successful bw with hot broke jackasses all the time b/c of our shallow outlook. She’s 43, he’s 68, she’s not 23. They are equals in many ways. Once again it’s not a ton of billionaires out there on the market to date.

“I’m sure Ms. Hobson is probably not worried about what broke, unmarried, unattached bw think of her marrying him.”

@cocoababeВ В @eugeniaberg В В @BrokenHeartNSoul13В That gif. I am done.

@cocoababe I can’t for the life of me hit the reply but thank you so much for that belly laugh with that gif.

В YOUNG nerds are great, I do not like old men i think its like someone dating their grandfather or someone with daddy issues. YOUNG and in age range is fine by me but no old men. They would not want me if i was old so why give up my youth to them? No way!

В Most men of wealth regardless of the age have women vying for their attention. Not just the money but also the power. It’s a strong aphrodisiac. A lot of women prefer older men. That doesn’t sound like desperation to me. If older men aren’t your preference that fine, no need to put other people down for their choice in partners by calling it gross or desperate.

@BrokenHeartNSoul13В В @eugeniaberg “They would not want me if i was old so why give up my youth to them?”

In SugarDaddy situations it’s all about the money for the women. If you’re attractive and in your twenties you can spend 4 or 5 years with a SD and still have time to get married and have kids later.

@BrokenHeartNSoul13В В @eugeniaberg My father was 17 years older than my mother, and they were married 45 years. He died one day after their 45th anniversary. I could not have asked for a better father. My mother chose wisely. Even though my dad was older, he had a youthful mindset, much more than my mother does.

@JamilaВ В @BrokenHeartNSoul13В В @eugeniaberg В IONO, Jamila….for me, it was very complicated. I mean one extreme to the next. I definitely wasn’t looking to fall in love & get married…but that happened out of the blue with a wonderful Black man, a marine who became a millionaire while we were married (5 years into our 10 year marriage). Before him, I had been with mostly rich Non-Black men in Arab world/Europe. I didn’t set out to be a mistress. But extremes kept presenting that scenario and I was very anti-marriage, distrusting of men, bored by men. I really enjoyed the mistress role because the man goes home, you have a lot of freedom, you get mostly perks—the wife has to deal with real life. I was never the emotional-romantic type. I had my Black American family for holidays. So I loved that arrangement. But marriage was also very, very satisfying and I loved the feeling of companionship with a virile man. I have always just selfishly went for what I wanted and was crazy (meaning I didn’t know what was impossible)…..so I often got what I wanted just because I went for it. I have NEVER listened to society or Men. I never tried to be loyal to Black men, ever. I was just out there chile.

@BrokenHeartNSoul13В В @eugeniaberg В You don’t like old men and you В don’t like jews. There are at least two -isms covered. В Have any more?

Oh yesВ black women are the most hated and feared women on the planet,В

You don’t like black men even В Hello Kitty took a hit.В

Must be nice to be so certain about life and sure of the absolute truth.

From what I’ve read and been told, older men have many positive qualities.

They are less likely to want to have “jackrabbit” sex; older men tend be better lovers and more emotionally stable. They have a better understanding of how the female mind works; these men also know themselves better.

When a person is older they can also mentor the younger person they are dating in ways that a beau of the same age would not be able to do.

Yeah, I get that May/December relationships can definitely have a depth to them even when both parties know that the relationship is not meant to last til death do you part.

@JamilaВ В @KolaBoof1В В @BrokenHeartNSoul13В В @eugeniaberg Can’t really speak on the sex thing…picturing Daddy with Mom is…gross. BUT! I think my father age mellowed him and he was such a patient and understanding father. Easy going. He had a family before ours, and my half sister told me he was nothing like that when he was a young father.

В The white elite jews who own and control the media don’t like you or me. They ARE the media and hollywood! They deliberately keep stereotypes and negative images of black women on tv and film, go talk to them about not “liking” somebody.

@BrokenHeartNSoul13В В @Brenda55 Okay, can I challenge you, BrokenHeart? What about when shows like “Scandal” and “Deception” come out with strong black leads? Are they perpetuating stereotypes there?

@BrokenHeartNSoul13В You seem to have one tune to sing on this site and it is getting rather old.

@Christelyn В В That’s just classic tokenism. “Oh i’m not racist because see, i let some blacks take the lead!” They are in power they will still perpetuate racism wherever they can against certain groups, like us especially. You will always here slurs against many groups, especially blacks but never the K word, for example.

@BrokenHeartNSoul13В What does this have to do with Ms. Boof’s post?

@Brenda55В В @BrokenHeartNSoul13В This is the second time this person has gone on an Anti-Semetic rant on this site, and in this case it’s not even relevant.В

In both cases it was and remains extremely disturbing and unnecessary.

You don’t want to date Jewish men, you don’t want to date older men? Fine. Do you. But the ugliness needs to stop. It’s unbecoming and doesn’t add anything intelligent to the conversation.

В Thank You, I thought I was the only sensing the faint ordor of bigotry in the air.

@mzsunshineВ В @Toni_MВ В @Brenda55В В @BrokenHeartNSoul13В I LOVE ME …some Jewish Men….so I wasn’t feeling those comments at all. lol. And let me state that my publisher is a Jewish man & that Cornel West tried to convince him to stop publishing me. I’m on the same label with Amiri Baraka and he is also a foe. Yet my Jewish King not only published me but put considerable support behind my book.

It is NOT faint and it IS going to stop. Pronto.

@eugeniaberg В В @BrokenHeartNSoul13 “I’m sure Ms. Hobson is probably not worried about what broke, unmarried, unattached bw think of her marrying him.”

Just thought I’d step in here and say that I don’t think BrokenHeartNSoul13 is “broke, unmarried, unattached.”

@JamilaВ В @eugeniaberg В В @BrokenHeartNSoul13

В This discussion about age differences has now become beside the point.

@eugeniaberg В Another group they pass up are “short” men, and for the same reasons you listed – and many of those “short” men meet some of the same qualities you listed!

@ASwirlGirlВ В @eugeniaberg LOL short men are not for me!

@BrokenHeartNSoul13В He’s rich. Who cares how old he is? Lol. Besides, there are plenty of other race women who do the same, like Anna Nicole Smith (rip).

@BrokenHeartNSoul13В Not saying that Mellody Hobson is like Anna Nicole, considering that she’s wealthy and educated herself. Just speaking in a more general sense.

В Im not a gold digger so even if the guy was rich i would not want him if he was a grandpa. If I was rich I would be with someone young or age range. I don’t trust giving my youth to someone who would reject me if i was their age.

@BrokenHeartNSoul13В I was more addressing the last part of your comment:

“I don’t like seeing old men with black women, it makes it look like all we can get are men who are old/washed upВ now and can’t get a women because he’s a grandpa!”

I’m saying that it’s not a big deal because people will see that she’s married a rich man, rather than some old grandpa who can’t get anything but a black woman.

В Yes because he’s rich he gets a pass, but if i was her i would run off to italy and get a fine looking youngВ italian man. sexy!!

@BrokenHeartNSoul13В Lol yes, I hear you on that Italian man!В

For me it would probably be a Norwegian or Swedish dude.

The desire to marry well, does not mean you’re a gold-digger. Only in the US, are women who wish to marry well considered gold-diggers. In other parts of the world, parents raise their daughters to marry well.

This goes back to the idea that everything must be hard and a struggle for black folks. No pain, No gain is a saying for the weight room, not with matters of the heart.

@Lexi88В В @BrokenHeartNSoul13В That’s a good point, Lexi. My mother is always telling me not to even consider someone without significant educational attainment and a prestigious job, and she was born and raised outside the US. Not only does he need to have money, he needs to get it doing something respectful like lawyer, engineer, doctor, business owner, or CEO. Not rapping or ball playing. Lol. I never thought it was gold-digging until I got to college and some people told me so. Oh, well. A lot of my family members did what my mom mentioned and they are in happy, stable, well-matched (as often the women are also well-educated) marriages…so I’m just going to do what she said.

@onmywayupВ В @Lexi88В В @BrokenHeartNSoul13В My friend is all up my ass because I don’t want to date this bus boy that slipped me his number. Talking about, he has a job. Um, so do I. My father told me not to date anyone without a degree. I think I’m going to rock with that!

@BrokenHeartNSoul13В В @onmywayupВ “I don’t trust giving my youth to someone who would reject me if i was their age.”

Wow, there’s an awful lot of unexamined assumptions in that statement. o_O

Listen, BHNS13, I’m going to make this observation and then step out of this discussion. В I’ve noticed a lot of your statements focus on what *other* people think, with all the “it makes it look like” kinds of statements. В To whom?

JMHO, but I think it much more practical to be focused on what *I* think of the man in question, and what he thinks of me. В When looking to be partnered, what other people think, outside of my closest familial circle (and some of them don’t get a vote, LOL) is the *least* of my concerns.

i completely agree , it is just common sense. TheВ analogyВ i use when people try to derail me is that when you go shopping do you pick the freshest fruit or do you pick the visibly rotting fruit? The same applies to people and uneducated person is completely out of the question and my parents would kill me twice if i thought of marrying some wannabe rapper or bus boy

The billionaire interest in marrying and committing to black women is cool; I was just trying to name a list to a friend a few days ago. I can pass on the ones who have black side chicks though, that’s not anything to be trumpeting, in my opinion. But to each his own, we’re all adults here and before the morality police begin screaming, no one is saying we should all become mistresses.

I see you popping off on Facebook, Kola! And you are absolutely right.

It is utterly LAUGHABLE that people can be mad that black women are being desired and M-A-R-R-I-E-D off to some of the most powerful men on the planet. If you love black people and want them to do well, shouldn’t you be happy for those women shattering the lie of black inferiority and undesirability?

All these people wailing and gnashing their teeth about a supposed “totem pole” and here you have something pretty much taking an axe to said totem pole….and you mad? Why you mad?

@Toni_MВ Girl, it is so astonishing at the number of Black people who get upset at the idea of a few Black women being chosen, loved and happy. I just feel so sad that we basically come from a community that hates us. From the musical messages in lyrics to the images to everything else. Our own folks can’t stand to see a Black woman happy.

@KolaBoof1В “Our own folks can’t stand to see a Black woman happy.”

Some people are full of this ugly belief that happiness free of suffering is not the path that black women are worthy of taking.В

В IMO, we are the only community that shows more support for the men rather than the women.В I wrote before how a certain program on campus will pay full tuition for 24 first time bm to go to school.В These men must become teachers.В Again, I ask, “What about those 24 bw who want to become teachers?В I know there are 24 bwВ that could use the assistance”.

В Sadly enough, I can believe it.В It’s the “crabs in a bucket” syndrome where the other crabs pull each other down to their level because they cannot stand to see others being successful.В The black community has always suffered from this mentality and will use any means necessary to drag upwardly mobile people including guilt, ridicule and shaming.

I need to address this article (Rather than the GAT-DL camping on @KolaBoof1В ‘s FB page), because it’s great.

This isn’t surprising to me because black women who know what they want and DON’T WAIT AROUND FOR ANYONE ELSE’S PERMISSION TO GO FOR IT tend to do much better and go much father than those poor souls who are duped into waiting around for a pat on the head and some sort of acknowledgement from those who hate them and want them to remain low and full of self-loathing. Namely white racists and the GAT-DL, who who are two arms on the same body as far as I’m concerned.

But black women are pressing on anyway as they always have. I fully expect people who hate black women, who are jealous of black women, who feel that black women do not deserve to be desired, etc. to be upset about articles like these. But then, I never really cared what these people had to think. I’m more amazed at the sense of entitlement some people have to butting into conversations that are not about them.

And on that note, I find it rather telling that people are angry about this, especially black men. And I mean VIOLENTLY angry at this. I was laughing at first (because it’s freaking ridiculous), but now I’m not. Because that level of ugly can only be one thing: Jealousy.

I was one of those women who didn’t like OLD Men….until I ran into Bob, a 62 year old Newport Beach tennis instructor who used Viagra….and literally rocked my world. I’m telling yall…he was already built like a 40 year old, very fit, but that Viagra makes them TOO HARD…..for way too long. I honestly couldn’t handle it. That thing will not go down. I was sore. I didn’t want no more. So that whole age thing is changing. But let’s almost not forget that Companionship is a major reason for women over 40 to marry. I’m already planning to marry one of my friends when I turn 50, because once my sons leave, I would like to have someone to cook for and chat with. It’s not always about the youthful activities. Folks sometimes want someone to grow old with.

“That thing will not go down. I was sore. I didn’t want no more.”

I was drinking water and I read this and spit it all over my keyboard. Lord have mercy, that’s scary. LOL В Older people these days are the same as older people in our grandparents days. There are many old men who can get it. Just no Viagra. I don’t think I’d be able to handle it after that description.

@EvieEВ I’m telling you….it’s an UNNATURAL thing with Viagra. They literally cannot “go down.” They stay erect for up to 6 hours. Now that removes one of the main complaints that younger women have about older men.

Yeah, I definitely wouldn’t be able to handle that. I’d probably run away after an hour.

Kola for future reference. В Two over the counter Sudafed will make it go down.

Keep them in your purse along with condoms as a night out survival kit.

@Brenda55В В @EvieEВ THANK YOU for telling me this. oh wow.

@KolaBoof1В В @EvieEВ Any time we gals have to look out for each other.

Oh an FYI В Sudafed works with Cialis, Lavitra and the injectable stuff also. Keep them handy.

@KolaBoof1В В @EvieE After 4 hrs, you are supposed to get medical attention. Too busy, I guess.

@Brenda55В В @KolaBoof1В В @EvieEВ LMAOOO. Brenda55…

В This post is going to makeВ AВ LOTВ of people angry.

@zabethВ В @KolaBoof1В I think if people are violently angry about the happiness of people they don’t know, they need to seek professional help. :/

@zabethВ В @Toni_MВ В @KolaBoof1 lawd…LAWD! Clo Clo ate the last of the popcorn.

@Toni_MВ В @KolaBoof1В Wondering if I should even look at this page? I’m on a no-negativity diet.

*Reads comment about “bullet to her brain” earlier in the thread…

Let me just take this as a sign that black women are a powerful group. If black women were so worthless, then why even bother with the attacks?

@onmywayupВ В @KolaBoof1В Not worth looking at. I’m looking because I’m going to be writing about the response. I shouldn’t be surprised that people think being violently ugly to a black woman trying to lift the self-esteems of black women and tell them how desirable they are is appropriate. But it remains surprising that some people think that sort of hate speech is okay.

I just have to say…omg, Naomi is so beautiful. I’ve seen so much negative media against her that I’ve never noticed this before.

Did you know she was attacked and injured byВ thievesВ in Paris a month ago?? В It just came outВ becauseВ they are still trying to find the thugs.

“The beauty’s billionaire boyfriend, Vladimir Doronin, immediately flew her by private jet to Vail, Colo., where she was treated by J. Richard Steadman, one of the top orthopedic surgeons in the world and the founder of the Steadman Clinic, which has treated many athletes, including Alex Rodriguez.”

She is the perfect example of a black women who KNOWS her WORTH, dates men on HER LEVEL, dates men who are her EQUAL, dates men who provide and take care of her and NEVER apologizes for it!

I’ve been seeing her in a new light within the past few months as my ability to see through bs becomes more clear. The media tries to paint Naomi as a witch because she is so uncompromisingly sure of herself. Not to mention extraordinarily beautiful.

I’m sorry to hear about what happened to her. I didn’t know this. That’s horrible! :/

@cocoababeВ В @onmywayup I’ve always believed that, while it’s never really spoken, part of the mainstream media hatred towards Naomi is not just about her famous temper. A huge part of it is that she’s a glamorous dark skinned black woman living incredibly well and is always taken care of by wealthy and powerful non-black men.

@KelsВ В @cocoababeВ В @onmywayupВ THIS IS FACT. I’ve told Naomi that to her face. It’s because she’s dark skinned and goes against the “beauty standard”… that she’s portrayed a certain way.

@KolaBoof1В В @cocoababeВ В @onmywayup If Tyra Banks were living Naomi’s life, yeah, she’s still get hated on as a black woman, but it would not be this visceral and almost violent hatred that is thrown toward Naomi. I’ve read articles where people said they wanted to beat her up and all kinds of mess.

В The father of Heidi Klum’s first daughter dated Naomi Campbell first and he bought her a yacht.

This is awesome

@AminahMatthewsВ В @Butterfly1В No, that’s true. The Father of Heidi Klum’s daughter used to go with Naomi.

theВ back storyВ on that is nuts.

apparently (according to the gossip rags) he originally denied he fathered the child he had with Heidi while he pined for Naomi. В Heidi had dumped Seal previously, but took him back after after the baby’s father wanted nothing to do with her.

@cocoababeВ В Wait a minute. Heidi dumped Seal and took him back when her baby daddy wanted nothing to do with her? I knew about her baby daddy dumping her but I didn’t know Heidi dumped Seal before..

В Hmmm, Naomi is rolling in the dough.

В Seal was foolish to take another man’s messy seconds.

@ann4950В В @AminahMatthews She was white, though! LOL

@KolaBoof1В В @AminahMatthewsВ В @Butterfly1В That guy has dated every model and wannabe model under the sky it seems.

@KolaBoof1В В @AminahMatthewsВ В @Butterfly1 Flavio Briatore has dated every model and wannabe model under the sky it seems.

В You joking, right? Seal stay, no go. Wait, I have someone else. Oh, wait, he left.В Seal come back and he came.В That sounds like messy seconds to me.

You made me look that info up and look what I found:

“Supermodel Naomi Campbell has broken her silence on her high-profile split from Benetton boss Flavio Briatore, saying his unreasonable expecations caused the end of the two-year relationship. “I’m not going to be a trophy,” she reveals in the February issue of Marie Claire. “If you expect me to be in the kitchen cooking breakfast in high heels, looking as though I just stepped out of a fashion magazine, it’s not going to happen.” “I’m alone now, but I’m not lonely,” she says. “I feel very content and I haven’t felt down or depressed in months.” Naomi has been linked with a string of men in recent years, including Oscar winner Robert De Niro and U2’s Adam Clayton. However, she says she’s just looking for love. “I want the same things as every other woman – the house, the kids, the lot,” says the 31-year-old stunner. “I know it must seem like there’s been this one continuous stream of famous boyfriends but that’s really not the case.” And while she refused to be a trophy girlfriend for 50-year-old Flavio – now rumoured to be dating Lady Victoria Hervey – Naomi admits she isn’t ready to abandon tradition entirely. “I don’t want a Mr Campbell,” she says. “I don’t want to be the one wearing the pants.”

@Jamila  @Butterfly1  @Kels  @cocoababe  @onmywayup “I don’t want a Mr Campbell,” she says. “I don’t want to be the one wearing the pants.”

Maybe its also to do with the fact that she has the audacity to treat people around her with such disgusting behaviour. I love her and she is a Brit like me but seriously ppl can’t tip toe around her just incase she decides to blow off!!

Maybe its also to do with the fact that she has the audacity to treat people around her with really disgusting behaviour. She is a Brit like me and and there was a time I wanted to be just like her then I realised I really didn’t.. seriously ppl can’t tip toe around her just incase she decides to give a taste of her own medicine!!

@KelsВ В @cocoababeВ В @onmywayupВ Have you seen her new editorial for the February issue of Elle В magazine? I can’t believe they didn’t give her the cover.В http://bit.ly/UWFUV2

@onmywayupВ I first read about Naomi in the 90s from my mom’s magazines. She was the first black model I came across and she was as stunning then as she is now. Over the years she’s had bad press but I love Naomi because she is stunningly beautiful, confident, independent and unapologetically Naomi. As for the bad press – she’s a black woman living life on her terms and successfully so – of course she’ll get bad press.

@NoireeВ В @onmywayup I like her. She is one of a kind. I just didn’t like her dating the still-married guy.

@KingsDaughterВ В @NoireeВ В @onmywayup I would normally disapprove of the whole ‘dating a married man thing,’ but in this particular situation it’s pretty obvious that everyone involved is clear about where they stand. I’ve seen several pictures of Naomi, he boo, and his wife and daughter all snuggled up hugging each other–pics of Naomi and his daughter smiling and hugging. I don’t know why her boyfriend isn’t divorced yet, but it appears that Naomi has discussed this situation with him and she is clear about where she stands even if no one else understands it. As long as she knows what’s up, that’s the most important thing.

@JamilaВ В @KingsDaughterВ В @NoireeВ В @onmywayupВ To me a marriage covenant is sacred so that part of her life I can’t stand.

@NoireeВ В @onmywayup I first saw Naomi back in the 90s too, when I was a teenager.В One of my older sisters gave me a fashion magazine which had Naomi on the cover and in an inside spread.В I studied those pictures over and over.В It was the first time I saw a dark-skinned black woman being celebrated for her beauty.В It really made an impression on me as a young girl, when in my environment being dark-skinned meant you could be anything but beautiful and desirable.В I still have that magazine.В And still look at the pictures from time to time! рџ™‚

I am not even gonna go on FB. What is wrong with people?! Thank god I am not sucked away in the “ratchet” part of the black community full of crazy BM. The BM on my TL basically were like “George Lucas is super lucky, he found a great woman, he chose well.” They watch Scandal and think it’s awesome some guy smashed Kerry Washington up against some tree, LOL. They encourage the BW they know to date well, regardless of color. They’re good guys and they are SICK of the dysfunction in the BC.В

Here’s to hoping their mindset spreads… why in the WORLD would people find something wrong with billionaires wife’ing up Black women. That’s so crazy! Yet these same people find nothing wrong with All My Baby Mamas. В How incredibly moronic…

Lord, please help me stay away from reading the comments on the FB page. I’m 28 (and not overweight) yet I feel like I’m developing high blood pressure and I’m attributing it to some of the inflammatory stuff I’m reading in comments sections on various sites against Black women. This article made me smile so I’m just going to enjoy the feeling and not ruin it by going to the FB page. Thanks for this, Kola! I’m a big fan.

@GetMeOutofBlackistanВ Yep, gotta stay away from Blackistan, that includes Facebook pages that were invaded and infested by its residents.

@GetMeOutofBlackistan “I’m developing high blood pressure and I’m attributing it to some of the inflammatory stuff I’m reading in comments sections on various sites against Black women.”

Stop reading that stuff. As semi-retired blogger Khadija Nassif once said, and I paraphrase: Stop looking back at Sodom before you too turn into salt!.

@JamilaВ В @GetMeOutofBlackistanВ I love me some Khadija Nassif. If you see her, tell her I said hello and that I love, love, love her so much.

So right! That is one of my favorite messages from Khadija. Loved Sojourner’s Passport—great reading. But realy ladies, just go cold turkey on negativity. It’s of no use now that you are in your champagne days.@JamilaВ В @GetMeOutofBlackistan

I still browse through that book on a regular basis. I was just re-reading some parts yesterday.

And I have to say, I just love that picture of the President and First Lady. Are they doing the bankhead bounce?! LOL

@KelsВ Malia’s in the corner like, mahm, dahd, stahp! lololol

This is honestly one of the first things I noticed when I first started frequenting BWIR sites. I was seeing photos of black women with partners like Peter Norton, Wolfgang Puck, Mark Echo, Roger Ebert. And I was like hey, all of these women are with super rich men, but they’re not football players or basketball players or anything like that, they are the guys that sign those guys checks. I definitely noted that and found it every interesting. As I always say, correlation doesn’t equal causation, but it comes pretty close рџ›

@VintageNarcissa Yup. The only black man I can think of who is married to real money is Ahmad Rashad. I don’t know if he’s still married to that woman, but she was an heiress to the Johnson & Johnson fortune. The woman is not cute, but she’s filthy rich and big on the NYC society scene. I can’t think of a single black man dating/marrying on that level other than him. Yet, I can name of a bunch of black women dating white men of that social status.

Seriously, black women are winning. Why worry about some basketball player marrying some blonde chick when you could have leader of the free world or one of the most powerful men in Hollywood, etc. Let the non-black women chase after the guys dribbling the ball, while we marry the ones who own the damn stadiums.

Speaking of signing the checks, Roland Betts who owned the Texas Rangers.В В В He also OWNS Chelsea Piers in NYC.

Photo of his wife.В His daughter MaggieВ is a major NY socialite, I would love to see her with a realty show she is so interesting….

@Butterfly1В В @VintageNarcissaВ Photo of the Betts with both daughters. В Married 30 years.

@VintageNarcissaAfter seeing Django Unchained, the only thing that I can think of when I see black atheletes is Mandingo Fighters….

“After seeing Django Unchained, the only thing that I can think of when I see black atheletes is Mandingo Fighters….”

Haha. I just saw the film and did enjoy it but that part was rather disturbing to say the least. yeesh. : – O

@VintageNarcissaВ Found this site after you mentioned all those couples В http://smokiesays.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html

I enjoyed the article and I’m not surprised by the response on FB. В As for the age gap, well to each his own. В For me, I’ve always been attracted to men that are close to my age. В It’s my preference.

@stephanie88 can you send me a link? i’d like to see the responses.

Its really great to see this. The only one I’m giving a side eye to isВ NaomiВ and her man. Is he still married??

Anyway, I think that seeing this is a threat to people who would love to see the demise of black women. I die with laughter at how much people loved to throw around that “70% singleness” stat. Its like “who are you REALLY trying to convince? Me or your dumb self. ”

Its clear that people make those insane comments want black women to settle for crap because to them, that is what we deserve. And when I mean they want us to settle, they want black women to just be happy that they have a man. Thats why these people love to throw around the phrase “that’s why you’re single!” Its a manipulation tactic that way too many black women buy into.В

Seeing these couples allows black women to see what the best has to over. Not necessarily race, but men who actually care about you and adore you and ARE ON YOUR CORNER. Just because a man almost shares the same amount of melanin as you does not mean he is your ally. And just because someone has less melanin then you does not automatically make him the enemy

A man that is on your corner is a man to keep regardless of race.

В Black woman should have started building alliances with white men years ago…

В I am sure there were smart bw who did.В Hmmm, how many years ago?В The bc had and has aВ tight grip on bw’s behaviors.

“WARREN BUFFET, TED TURNER, AND of all people…….DONALD TRUMPВ ALL HAVE BLACK MISTRESSES.

@AminahMatthewsВ Donald Trump has always had Black mistresses…he dated Robin Givens (how old are you?)….he’s dated Naomi Campbell and Omarosa. He MARRIED WHITE. But he’s always had Black mistresses. He’s a racist, too.

В OK, I’m trippin.В Its really NO SURPRISE. I don’t know why I’m trippin.

I so beliee that. Like Strom Thurman the racist bastard with a half black daughter he supported for years! I’ve seen him Trump,В only once upclose and inВ personВ backstage afterВ Betsy Johnson fashion show in about 2003. She used former Playboy playmates as her models for that show so of course Trump was all up in the joint for that. He had the same unattractive puss face and gave off a douche bag vibe to me. He was taller than I expected though.

@Seenycomg I almost forgot about the racist basterd. What nerve.

@KolaBoof1В В @AminahMatthews In the late 90s/early 00s, he was also with a black model named Karyn something or the other.

В Yeah, I remember.В Kara Young.В I remember he was being interviewed years ago and someone asked if he ever dated a black girl and he replied “part black'”В She by the way ended up marrying a greek billionaire

@Butterfly1В В @KolaBoof1В В @AminahMatthews WTF is wrong with Tyra Banks. Dating basketball players and 25 year old male models is just so dumb. No reason she couldn’t have landed a billionaire.

@KelsВ В @Butterfly1В В @KolaBoof1В В @AminahMatthews She’s already filthy rich.

@KelsВ В @Butterfly1В В @KolaBoof1В В @AminahMatthewsВ At one time she was dating investment bankerВ John Utendahl before moving on to her new “boy toy.”

В Trumps wife looks as if she is in it for the money.В She always appear to be modeling.

В Trump has a good relationship with “the blacks,” remember…

Yes indeed, I have noticed these very powerful and weathy men with black wives, fiancee’s and girlfriends. And you know how I delight in who that just pisses off! As SwirlQueen would say, BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA! *smirk*

There ar probably so many more we haven’t heard of yet.

@Seenyc “There ar probably so many more we haven’t heard of yet.”

But why would anyone want to hear about BW leading happy, privileged lives, when instead we can hear about how unattractive/undesirable/un-marriageable/unfeminine/unsophisticated/etc. we are?В В В BW might start getting “ideas”.

You know, we can’t forget the legendary swirly sista herself, Diana Ross, was married to a billionaire Norwegian shipping tycoon. He died in a mountain climbing accident some time ago.

@KelsВ yea, and had to cuteВ sons by him.

В Yeah and one already married a white girl and gave it back.В Black men love to give the white man money throughВ his daughters lol

@Butterfly1 I seriously have to laugh at that comment. He married a white woman, so what? Giving white man money through his daughters? What nonsense.

@Kels “Norwegian shipping tycoon. He died in a mountain climbing accident some time ago.”

В Yeah, but she was stupid and divorced him shortly before his fatal accident. I know, I know, it’s not all about the $$, but she’s got to feel like the biggest dummy. Just sayin’….

Ladies just wanted to share a comment with you from a hip hop site featuring this article:

ud be surprised at how many white men love black women.. its societal pressures that makes them marry the white woman.. while they secretly covet black women.. so they kill two birds wit one stone.. marry the white bitch to make mommy.. daddy and associates happy.. and pay for black pussy! hahahaha i dont know who hate niggas more but love black bitches.. mexican or white men..

@Butterfly1В Yep that looks like an example of hip-hopese in all it’sВ illiterate glory.

Oh god, even when they are saying something “positive” it sounds repulsive.В I wish they would stop talking about BW, period.

I thinkВ Ted Turner and his ex Jane FondaВ have aВ son who isВ marry to a black woman too.

@AminahMatthewsВ yep! their son is married to a bw рџ™‚

@AminahMatthews Jane and Ted don’t have children together. That’s Janes son from a previous marriage. He has been married to his black wife for a while!

@AminahMatthewsВ В @SeenycВ Right, the son from her second husband Tom Hayden.

I didn’t know that she was married to Ted Turner but I do know that Jane’s son is indeed married to a black woman. His name is Troy Garity and some of you may know him as the white guy from the Barbershop movies.В

He and his wife and Mother

@Hallyu LoveВ OMG. В You just literallyВ shocked the shit out of me HallyuLove. I seriously didn’t know this. I didn’t know that HE is Jane Fonda’s SON…and that he’s married to a black woman for real.

I was also taken aback when I found out that he was her son. He looks nothing like her imho. Yep he’s married to a sista for real.

@AminahMatthews I kinda got that he liked black women after watching Barbershop. I’m like, “His acting is TOO REAL!!” lol.

More comments between two black men from Hip Hop site featuring Kola’s article:

I aint catchin feelins B…its not my article and Im not fuckin Kola. Its an interesting observation simply because niggas just dont accidentally become billionaires.В Billionaires by virtue tend to be some highly scrutinizing mofos in everything from marriage on down to how to spend a single dollar. So it says something if is a trend that billionaires or powerful men tend to marry black women if not have black mistresses…niggas who can have any woman of any ethnicity in the world choose Black women and this is in juxtaposition to this American media and American perspective that constantly boxes black women into this category of negative undesirable traits and/or hypersexualized but good for nothing else.

Best post of 2013! Finally something good and nothing to argue about. TIred of all the articles telling us how terrible we are. A writer on this blog even promotes some of this bs. Great post.

Although I am loving this whole thing, I dont think that it is cool that it is being bragged about because that trend could turn in the other direction instead of continue to grow.В I think that sharing it between a bunch of black women but having it out on facebook to piss people off is probably not such a good move.

@Butterfly1В What? You afraid of putting the jinx in or something.В

That made those people on FB evening. They were looking for something to rage about and they got it. Now they can go the bed happy they acted the fool.

В Yeah kinda.В Anyway still a good article!

@Butterfly1В It’s not a trend, because these types of liaisons have been occurring for years, here and in Europe. The media doesn’t write about them because it’s not interesting to them unless they can find something about the couple that they can sensationalize. There are several black women who have married quite well.

В Of absolutely!В They dont want too many white men to see that because they dont want to give too many good white men any ideas.

This is a message all generations of black women globally should receive often! Kola as usual, priceless information with a powerful message.

From Butterfly1 – ‘Although I am loving this whole thing, I dont think that it is cool that it is being bragged about because that trend could turn in the other direction instead of continue to grow.В I think that sharing it between a bunch of black women but having it out on facebook to piss people off is probably not such a good move.’

——————————–People are always going to have something negative to say about black women no matter what they do. Life is too short to be worrying about what other people think of you. There is nothing negative about this article thatВ shows black women married to rich or successful men, who could have chosen any race of womanВ but still chose to date or marry a black woman. The only negative aspect would be the mistress part. Too many black women man sharing already in the black community. The more people see black women coupled with or married to other races of quality men – The more black women will be seen as desirable quality mates.

В @KolaBoof1В Did Ben say that to you? You know, I could totally see him saying that. Is his wife Black? I’ve never read any info on her.

Also, I’m so curious as to who was Yasser Arafat’s mistress!

@GoneInternationalВ It was porn starВ Ebony Ayres. В She’s still alive.

@KolaBoof1В В @GoneInternational She made awesome flicks – still worth watching (if you’re male, of course).

@SirLoinDeBeefВ В @KolaBoof1В В @GoneInternationalВ OR female, рџ‰

Love this article and this discussion. Please ignore what the black men are saying. They have no part in this and their opinions do not matter. Emancipate yourselves from that noise that is there talk on FB and the like. I couldn’t even read the bits posted on here from there for the gibberish that stands for English! Why go backwards to that when so much forward talk and thought is here. You’ve left that hood now keep it moving higher…higher…

So back to us. Black women we have to take the understanding of this to a higher level. Get into your spiritual reading, learn how we В black women are the MOTHERS OF THE UNIVERSE. There lies power BEYOND MEASURE, within us, when we are at our peak. And when I say peak, I mean healthy, happy, educated, emotionally fit…we are the bees knees and elbows and toes, and men who want the best, well they seek it out in us. Men who are self-directed and who think for themselves, they will court and love and marry us. I’m not just preaching some pseudo black power stuff, or talking about our surface sexiness—lips and hips—I’m talking spiritual power that goes deep. This is real.

writing too fast…there/their…big oops…please forgive that and my other mistakes

Haha! Maybe I’m aiming too low and should try to get myself a billionaire рџЂ

I would love to know how these couples met (the non celebrity ones!) as I find it difficult to let average rainbeaus know I am interested non-the-less the billionaire ones…

@iHeartLoveВ Billionaires (from my personal involvement with them)….tend to walk around looking scruffy and poor. I’ve dated many famous men, my husband became a millionaire while we were married. I’ve never known rich men to “look rich” or be elaborate. You meet them (w/o knowing it) at museums, book events, political festivals. Many of the Black women did not realize they were dating a billionaire.

@KolaBoof1В В @iHeartLoveВ Good points Kola. We should beware of a man wearing wealth on his sleeves. But if he does wear wealth it’s more likely of the understated sort, and classic versus trendy. Something to consider as well women as we dress and place ourselves in positions to meet men of means.

‘В tend to walk around looking scruffy and poor’

however, since men are visual and hunters, we ladies have to be looking like a ‘million’ $$$ bucks lol

@KolaBoof1В В @iHeartLoveВ В “I’ve never known rich men to “look rich” or be elaborate.”

That was my experience also. Quite frankly you don’t find out about stuff like that until the relationship is really serious. В By that time you have been vetted thoroughly.

@KolaBoof1В В @iHeartLove Back in the ‘day,’ when I was but a lad, living in San Diego, CA, my dad used to point out a couple of men walking down Broadway – the better-dressed one was stopping and searching through trash cans for stubs of smokes and food – the really ratty-looking one owned 3 yachts and 3 whole blocks of buildings in the city.

@SirLoinDeBeef Classic example of the rich not wearing their money.

I’ve never known rich men to “look rich” or be elaborate.

ITA, I was at the Ritz-Carlton recently and one of the employees had mentioned that one of the residents had bought out 2 floors and had extensive reconstruction at the hotel. He pointed out the gentleman. He was average looking and was dressed casually; like Saturday at the mall casual. If I had seen him at a Starbucks he would not have stood out. I’m not sure if he was a billionaire but I figured if you can afford 2 floors at the Ritz-Carlton then who knows.

Sidenote, I have learned so much from you and the knowledge you share is so very much appreciated by me. Thank you.

Think about it. В The have really do not want to advertize that they are haves. That is for their own protection.

@Brenda55В В @KolaBoof1В В @iHeartLove

Peter Norton and his wife Gwen look like a lovely couple who are happy people. They look very compatible. They kind of look like each other, which is something I think happy couples tend to do.

Kola, I must say that I have been following what you write for some time now and I love the fact that you are not afraid to expose the lie that us beautiful black women are not desired. With all the negative things put out, a lot that is simply not true, it nice to see black women have positive discussions about what really goes on with us. I just feel happy seeing black women have a space where they can be positive about what happens in our romantic/intimate portion of our lives. This puts down the myth of the lonely down trodden black woman.

@CherieMariaВ Thank you so much, sister. I am so imperfect, my life is a clutter of huge mistakes and a few tragic steps. But I try very hard to be an “artist” and to be true in voice to my work. I’m really untrained (never had formal education) and do everything from experience. That’s all I have is experience, passion and a gift with words.

My mom and I have had Norton security for 7 years. The service is great.

@heyimPearlilikefries I have Norton since I got myВ my 1st computer i 1988.

@tonyrogВ It is such a great service. I wouldn’t want any other kind of security. And that was before I knew he had a BW. I think my grandma has Norton too… Er’body got Norton Security. lol

@heyimPearlilikefries Just a side note: GIven what is going on with madman McAfee, aren’t you glad…lol. I bet Norton’s stock has gone up.

IВ absolutelyВ love this post. I love it, I really do!

@heyimPearlilikefriesВ Yet another new name Pearl. Yeah В I know deal with it. Welcome back.

@Brenda55В Ohh I missed you Brenda!! Ur comments down there are so freakin’ wise!!В

I don’t know, I can’t find a perfect user name. I just put my name in the info box so people won’t think I’m a different person lol

@heyimPearlilikefriesВ В @Brenda55 You will be “Pearl” to me unless and until you decide to change it.

This is a very good post and it’s something I mentioned to a friend a few days ago…I like to think that Black women are the best kept secret in the dating and relationship world. I refuse to think of Black women as unwanted or unattractive.

I like to think that Black women are the best kept secret in the dating and relationship world.

I actually had a white guy tell me this.В I was on an interracial dating site and this guy contacted me because heВ wanted to go out and he told me that he really was pleasantly suprisedВ about what was out there with black women.В He said that he had gone out with a doctor and lawyer and they were both pretty attractive.В We never went out because I did not have any body pics and he said that he was not goingВ out with a woman before he makes sure that she is not overweight.В You could look at my pic fromВ chest up and see that I wasВ slender but the jerk wanted to see my body.В В He felt entitled.В I mean there are lots of black women with duel degrees who are really nice who are single.В They are an untapped resource.В В В I had a white guy say this to me.

There are lots of successfulВ black women who are really nice who are single.В They are an untapped resource.В В В I had a white guy say this to me.

Wait. he has gone out with a DOCTOR and LAWYER? IDK… I wonder about that. Does the BW have to be a doctor or lawyer for him to go out with. sometimes when a woman is ‘too successful’ it could either turn offВ men because of too independence, OR attract some guys who want them to have a wife to take care of him financially..i like the fact that some women want to be uber professionals BUT not all woman want that–and some want to be the feminine teachers, or (ahem) homemakers….LOL

@starzzzy “I refuse to think of Black women as unwanted or unattractive.” -I totally agree. I have seen some absolutely STUNNING DARK-SKINNED African/African-American women and I just think “WOW!” We are truly jewels of the Nile. A beautiful, educated, successful, family/goal-oriented, “feminine”, fit and healthy black woman is a NIGHTMARE to many non-black women and dbr men.

I wonder why people are seething over this on facebook, wait I know jealousy.

I notice this too, quite a few well-off men are married to black women in my area as well(obviously not billionaires, but doctors, lawyers etc).В One couple is a white lawyer married to a black woman(not sure of her career, but the two are always together and happy), another was a white man and and african woman(one of the most beautiful women EVER IMO).В The man has a masters in engineering, his wife works, but doesn’t make nearly as much.В So don’t let anyone tell you otherwise, non black men DO like black women, and they DO take black trophy wives, I have seen it first hand.

Let’s not forget Robert Deniro.В He loves black women and is one of the most well respected men in Hollywood.В He is really powerful.В He started the Tribeca Film festival and has several restaurants in NYC and I believe elsewhere.В Nobu is one of them and the Tribeca Grill is another.В He has had 3 black wives.В I heard that his latest wife terrorizes the waitresses at Nobu.В She was a stewardess whenВ he met her.В The one thing that I wish is that these black women married to these powerful white men would do sometthing about the negative images of black women in Hollywood.В В I know that they could not perform magic …..I wonder if Deniro and George Lucas socialize together with their wives.

@Butterfly1В Robert DeNiro is not a billionaire….and I notice many Black women reading this article are not understanding that this refers specifically to the small number of billionaires in the world. When you statistically count “millionaires”—then Black women do not rate very well. It’s like less than 1% of millionaire men marry Black women.

В Yeah, I figured that he was not a billionaire but wasnt sure because of his other ventures.В Anyway, I figured that he deserved an honorable mention рџ‰

@KolaBoof1В That 1% figure is okay seeing you can name that many bw in contact with billionaires. Furthermore it’s also interesting given the smaller numbers of bw that they are able to find these men at all. I imagine there are few bw in positions to even meet these men.

@kiki100В В @KolaBoof1And even 1% is a lot because there are only what 1226В billionaires yet there areВ are 10,000,000 millionaires around the world.

В Maybe the millionaires will take note since most millionaires watch what the billionaires do.

В That’s still less than 2%. 7 out of 1226.

I say give “credit” where credit is due. В I’ve seen some articles and comments a lot more negative about black women and thus, even though I still prefer to think of people as individuals, I’m happy to see something a lot more upbeat and positive. В I guess it all depends on what you decide to do with it.

Another billionaire who married a black woman is Edgar Bronfman Jr, CEO of Seagram Beverage Company, Warner Music Group, etc. В His father, whom he inherited the business from, warned him not to marry to black actress Sherry Brewer. В The marriage lasted a little over a decade.

В His daughter inlaw was the girl who did the song with Nikki Manaj and Madonna at Superbowl and put her middle finger up.В I think that she is Indian or Middle Eastern.

@MaxineВ WHAT? Damn, y’all just keep coming with more and MORE shock.

I would love to know the name of the Algerian Billionaire who got engaged/married a Black woman in 2012.

@TamaraCannonВ He’s Black Arab. Musjanicid or something like that.

В Wow, what you don’t know?В I just read that country singer Johnny Cash’s first wife was at least part AA, Hispanic on her father’s side and Italian on her Mother’s side of the family.

В Hey Kola, I applaud you for writing this masterpiece. You forgot to mention Aliko Dangote who controls about 3% of the world’s sugar business but is never acknowledged by forbes and Adnuga who is a telecoms tycoon and billionaire from Nigeria. The media hypocrisy is a travesty and I am so proud of you for making my sisters open their eyes to it. Do you also notice how movies about great black women never feature a black actress? Cleopatra is portrayed as white, Maqueda ( the queen of Sheba) is portrayed as white. Mariane Pearl was playedВ Angelina jolie, and I hear that Frieda pinto will be playing you (Kola) in a movie. God forbid that an actual beautiful black actress play the role of a beautiful black woman in Hollywood.

I know that this piece is mainly about billionaires, but do you know that Prince Albert of Monaco dated a black woman for 6 years and has a son with her? How about Princess Angela of Liechtenstein? They are unacknowledged by the media ofcourse. I stopped buying magazines because I realized that I was paying to an industry that abhors women like me and women like me are almost never in the pages. That’s the reason why **** ******* like chung would have the guts to say what she said to you. smh

@phoenicianВ Um, correct me if I’m wrong but, it turns out that the child was not his. I’m talking about prince Albert. He may have dated a black woman for 6 years but they found out the child wasn’t his. Now i might be wrong but that was the last i heard of it. **shrug** And I think he was going to marry her too

В Nope, it IS his child. You know how royals are about this kind of stuff.В They had DNA testingВ and all that. Nicole still lives in Monaco and was given a palace, etc. Albert adores his son. Albert had wanted to marry her, but his father disapproved of her cos she was black and a single mother.

@phoenicianВ I rememeber seeing him holding his son (who isВ absolutely adorable) on some website/blog.В And I do believe Prince albert was going to marryВ Nicole but something stopped him. Now I see why. I DIDN’T know though that his father disappoved of his girlfriend because she’s black.

And the one he’s married to now didn’t look happy on her wedding day. i think he was forced to marry her in fear of PROBABLY being disinherited if he had married Nicole. **just speculating**

Ther were 7 Cleopatras. The last one which many adore was Persian and not “Black” as the word is thrown around in 2013 USA.

@TamaraCannonВ I just looked on Forbes list of Billionaires. There are NO BILLIONAIRES IN ALGERIA but if there is a billionaire at all with the name that Kola lists, he would be on Forbes.com search it for yourself. You will find that despite her “creative” writing, there are noВ В “…BlackВ billionaires in Uganda, Algeria and Burkino Faso married “educated” business-owning Black African women…..the phenom is glaring.” В When you Google “Forbes Billionaires 2012” В and you use the filter by country option, you find that the African countries she lists are not on Forbes list- because there are no billionaires there. Though many black females feel that their self esteem is boosted reading such “creative writing” does nothing to benefit black females. If you care about black females, tell black females the truth! В Research renders that MOST BILLIONAIRES PREFER WHITE AND ASIAN FEMALES as is the case with most White men regardless of income. The few black billionaires prefer black females and most billionaire males prefer wives from their own ethnic groups. В There are not seven black females currently engaged to billionaires. If they are I would love to see them named. Naomi Campbell is no more engaged than Kanye West. They are both in bed with married people who have spouses. В I’m still looking for a source for Ben Horowitz’s supposed comment about “black wives” that does not originate from Kola’s post. No sources found or cited yet. I’m suspicious that she made it up. I could be wrong, but a verified source would settle it. В Black women have got to think more critically when you read things like this.

@MiriВ People of Algerian descent don’t live in other countries?

i hope people don’t make the mistake of trying to argue with you. it would be a waste of their time….like it was a waste of time posting your comment.

@AminahMatthewsВ В @cocoababe

@TamaraCannonВ Excuse me hon….<<A>>the billionaires from those African countries don’t necessarily live in those countries. I used their birth nationalities to identify them. AFRICA has more than 12 billionaires, not all are acknowledged by FORBES. I find your attack really reaching & pitiful. And for the record…FORBES, a Western agency…doesn’t list all the of the billionaires in the world, despite their attempts to do so. В <<B>> Ben Horowitz spoke directly to me, that’s where his comment comes from. <<C>> Naomi Campbell’s Russian beau has stated that they are getting married, he’s spent $157 million building Naomi 2 new mansions + purchased a condo in Miami last year…anyone can look that up…and his wife has no power to stop it. She’s an idiot. Her man has publicly stated that he is marrying Naomi and he is a Billionaire.

@TamaraCannonВ ATTENTION @Miri ….Excuse me hon….<<A>>the billionaires from those African countries don’t necessarily live in those countries. I used their birth nationalities to identify them. AFRICA has more than 12 billionaires, not all are acknowledged by FORBES. Glaring examples of billionaires not acknowledged by Forbes include Osama Bin Laden, Moamar Khadafi, Robert Mugabe and quite a few others that I’ve personally known. FORBES, a Western agency…doesn’t list all the of the billionaires in the world, despite their attempts to do so. Now this is sad. WHY? Because I’m sitting here wondering why why why don’t these people help the poor? So many starving, deseased, and poverty stricken people who desperately need theirВ help and all they do is fly around the world in private jets, eat fine foods, have many women on the side, and so on and so on. That is disgusting to me.

yup..and who are the ones going over there to try to keep these babies alive? WHITE PEOPLE like James Robison and his wife and kids. Digging wells for them (those babies are drinking MUD WATER!)..never theВ afrocentric blacks worring about the WM.В Until afrocentric blacks go over there with some churches to help, they have NOTHING TO SAY

“Miri” sounds like a BM to me:В “many black females”, “about black females”, “benefit black females”, sounds like DBR-speak. В

And this comment:В “feel that their self esteem is boosted”:В we can’t have that now can we?В В

it’s mostly DBR BM that have an _I-must-prove-this-wrong. _ reaction to things that uplift BW.В They are so eager to shout down anything positive about BW, and need to prove that anything that isn’t degrading or insulting BW is untrue.В В If this article was something slandering BW, “Miri” would not be hunting and pecking to disprove it .

В Kola, refuted all of your proofs BlackManri, go back to your cave and brood over our awful “self esteem boost”.В ;D

@greengirl7 “And this comment:В “feel that their self esteem is boosted”:В we can’t have that now can we? ”

IMO it could be a blackВ man-child using the termВ ‘female’В or ‘black identified’ white man-child (sigh) who uses the term MALE anyway–male WHAT?! just part of the c/rap culture rearing its ugly head

@Miri “Research renders that MOST BILLIONAIRES PREFER WHITE AND ASIAN FEMALES” – Um, where you get that at?!

ATTENTION SISTERS…..<<A>>The billionaires from those African countries don’t necessarily live in those countries. I used their birth nationalities to identify them. AFRICA has more than 12 billionaires, not all are acknowledged by FORBES. Example: Osama Bin Laden and Moamar Khadafi were both billionaires yet Forbes did not acknowledge them. Great article. В The point for me is to walk around like I have the best to offer a good man of my choosing, whether he is a billionaire or not. В Being Black doesn’t change my mentality. В I have always noticed that when a high-status White male chooses a Black woman, it is something special. В It’s almost like they have discovered a secret and are quite pleased that it isn’t out yet.

HEY LADIES…..I am now BANNED from posting on “FACEBOOK” for 1 month. sigh. Apparently there are a lot of complaints about me.

@KolaBoof1В Well, think of it this way. Even if you can’t post, what you’ve written is already there and no matter how hard these people pitch a fit, they cannot take your words down, nor can they do anything about the information that’s already out there.

Just think of it as a 30 day vacation, after which if you want, you can immediately recommence pissing off the haters.

I’m rather stunned they’d ban you, given the rather controversial pages they have no intention of doing anything аbout:

“Facebook has refused to take the offending pages down, insisting they are intended to be “a place where people can openly discuss issues and express their views….groups that express an opinion on a state, institution, or set of beliefs – even if that opinion is outrageous or offensive to some – do not by themselves violate our policies.”

@Toni_M @KolaBoof1 “”Facebook has refused to take the offending pages down””

That’s disgusting, FB won’t take down “rape-joke pages”, ugh.В But they banned Kola for a month because she offended some DBR BM who can’t mind their own business?

Oh, I forgot BM are an endangered species, so it’s perfectly acceptable for them to be angry about BW talking about other BW on a Black Woman’s website!В

BM are the definition of the word “entitled”.В They think they have the right to come into our spaces and rant, even when it is a BW/non-BM article or blog BM still think they are invited and have the right to lecture us….. I’d like a restraining order.

@KolaBoof1В Well thank goodness for Twitter! В I’ve never heard of them banning anyone…yet.

@MaxineВ В @KolaBoof1В В I call “Twitter” somethin’ that starts with the letter “S”, mwaahahahahaha.

@KolaBoof1 Don’t worry Kola. You are an inspiration. You know how it is: when someone says something the majority disagrees with (because in their book, there is no opinion other than their opinion), they become pariahs.

“I thought choo knew”, bwaahahahahahaha. В Looks like my husband and wife-in-law (yeah, I’m mad Michelle married my man – lol) doin’ the Bankhead Bounce sittin’ down. В В В Good article.

My mixed heritage Irish boyfriend and I now have a business that may, ultimately, with continued drive and due diligence, may make us wealthy someday. В He’s that man with the nose to grindstone, it’s what he’s about and does his best to give me what I need and want, we have our moments as any couple does and have been together going 5 years now (hard to believe, time flies when you’re having fun and workin’ your ass off to make things happen) so I most definitely feel you, Ms. Boof.

So sorry you got banned from buttbook. В В You too powerful gurl. В They mad, let ’em be mad ’cause you droppin’ jewels of knowledge and I guess folk can’t “handle the truth” (you), bwaaahahahahahaha.

Later for Zuckerberg, a buttbook founder (Asian wife), eff those heaux, must’ve touched a nerve on the tired dbr bm and supporters’ mindset.

Love ya Ms. Boof, awesome Black woman you is, yes, ma’am.

Don’t forget David Bowie and Iman. He’s not a billionaire, but still one of the most influential musicians of our time, so might as well be a billionaire lol.

@Dandelion100В В He may not be a billionaire yet, but he’s on his way, Dandelion100. В Love, Iman. В The woman is 57 and I can only hope to hold that tight at said “age”. В В She’s beautiful and I love her. В В В http://www.fanpix.net/gallery/iman-pictures.htm

It’s the January 5th post.

Thank GOD for this post! I must admit; I for one, was starting to be a little too bothered by this entire portray of angry, bitter, crazy black women. What bothers me most is that it’s even black men saying these horrible things about black women.

I loved reading this article. Glad to see Black women happy in life. В I’ve always beenВ accusedВ of having golddigging tendencies by people. But I never saw anything wrong with wanting a man that can give you a quality of life. And besides I can’t bring just anyone home to my family. В Our standards are too high for that.

Bad millionaire and a good reminder to follow your instincts.

It does seem like you see a lot of wealthy prominent men dating black women, I wonder if they are perhaps more open to it than average joe’s would be. The money and power probably gives them confidence to not care what people think…

Black male athletes do actually still mostly marry black women, it is just the media that likes to give the impression they don’t. There is nothing hoodrat about being an athlete, so Kola Boof should stop the hating on athletes.

I like Kola, but I agree with you. The media is so unfair andВ full of shit.

Like myself………these white men find black women attractive and sexy…………and there is no longer a negative stigma attached to interracial relationships. This attraction is also not a one way street friends. Take if from one who has been dating inter-racially for40 years.

“I thought choo knew”… dying laughing right now… loved this Kola!

Thanks again, Kola, for such a phenomenal article.В This is proof that Black women are owning our images.В It’s writers such as you who will get the word out.В Our images are our responsibilities.В We have only begun to see the awesomeness of our quality.В Again, thanks, Gorgeous!

Great news. It’s amazing all the work to keep black women down. P.S. I love the site.

Now that Janet and Wassam is married.В Maybe Naomi will be next.

Now that Janet and Wassam is married.В Maybe Naomi will be next.

Now that Janet and Wassam are married.В Maybe Naomi will be next.

@VerbalKarate – I think it’s a great thing for people toВ vigorouslyВ pursue love wherever it legitimately presents itself.В Just trying to clarify the position here though.В So are we suggesting that it’s time to be okay with interracial dating now that prominent white billionaires are dating black women? Because it wasn’t okay with more than a few black women before.

@VerbalKarateВ No. В The author is not suggesting that at all.

@VerbalKarateВ В @VerbalKarateВ ”В So are we suggesting that it’s time to be okay with interracial dating now that prominent white billionaires are dating black women?”

It’s none of anyone else’s business who you date, and you should be able to date whoever you want regardless of whose okay with it. This is something we’re communicating to black women across the black woman interracial dating blogsphere.

The subject of this particular post is an observation that a lot of billionaires tend to marry black women. Though there are black women marrying interracially at various levels of society, and so long as they are pursuing their happiness, that is all that matters.

”В So are we suggesting that it’s time to be okay with interracial dating now that prominent white billionaires are dating black women?”

It’s none of anyone else’s business who you date, and you should be able to date whomever you want regardless of who’s okay with it. This is something we’re communicating to black women across the black woman interracial dating blogsphere.

The subject of this particular post is an observation that a lot of billionaires tend to marry black women. Though there are black women marrying interracially at various levels of society, and so long as they are pursuing their happiness, that is all that matters.

@Toni_MВ В @VerbalKarateВ Brenda55В Sigh….I mentioned “African” billionaires in the article (all black men)…annnnd….that I married a black man who later became a millionaire. Yet whenever Black men read this article, they totally see it as an “interracial article” and not an economic one. I am GLAD that Black women are marrying *White* men…very glad…but that was not the focus of this article.

@KolaBoof1В В @Toni_MВ Keep in mind, men are visual. And note the pics. I seriously was just curious about the thinking below the surface. I really enjoyed the read.

@VerbalKarateВ В @KolaBoof1В Those pics were used because they’re relevant to the women here as interracial-centric. But Kola really meant billionaires of various ethnicities, including African.

We actually discussed one African billionaire on another post. I believe he was Nigerian and married to a black woman.

I agree with the overall importance of this message to black women. However….It would have been a better article had you not said ”В And the fact that these women are more “authentically Black” (their genes more African looking and less Mixed/European) is meaningful here.” It made me (a fair-skinned sista from Brooklyn, ny) feel excluded. Am i not “AUTHENTICALLY BLACK?” because I’m lighter? Why include such a dividing comment? You could have simply attached photos of all of the “african” looking women to the article for visual support and kept it at “black women.” I GET that the mass media, hip-hop etc have glorified the fairer-skinned sista but let’s not make two wrongs a right. Black women are Black women. If the trend/message is that Billionaires marry Black women then great for ALL black women. It will help us with how we view and value ourselves. Otherwise I thought the article was cute and CHEERS to the young black girls who will grow up more self worth than generations before them.

@RealSistasRoNDaInsideВ “Am i not “AUTHENTICALLY BLACK?”

The word authentically black as Kola uses it has nothing to do with ethnicity, nor race. Kola is herself bi-racial. What she is referring to is COLOR. And it must be admitted that dark-skinned women are notoriously maligned for being dark, having “kinky” hair, and non-Eurocentric features.

This wasn’t meant to exclude lighter women. It was meant to ENCOURAGE dark-skinned women who have been routinely told that “nobody wants you because you black and ugly (where “ugly” represents absolute proof of their African ancestory)”.В

Often light-skinned women assume that dark-skinned women being praised means they are being picked on or excluded. The black community has never tried to exclude or cast away black women of lighter shades. Except perhaps in situations where they are no longer needed as substitute white women.

But that is an entirely different conversation and not the point of this post. This is about black women, and yes, that does include lighter-black women. But for the most part, it’s more important to correct negative opinions when it comes the desirability of DARK-SKINNED BLACK WOMEN WHOSE FEATURES ARE NOT TYPICALLY “WHITE” OR EUROCENTRIC.

very well said.В i appreciate the clarity.В sometimes the dismay of the light skinned black women who cringe when a black woman is being praised for her black looks is annoying.В everyone knows that the whiter looking or more mixed race looking women of the world areВ usually preferred – so why the defensiveness?В keep quiet unless you are afraid of losing a status gained by the soul killing of the majority of us.В it reminds me of the absurdity of whites cringing when we blacks decide that we are fully human and as beautiful as anyone else.В problack does not mean antiwhite.В problack is a necessary corrective to centuries of white supremacist thought and racist practices.В all i want to hear from my light skinned sisters on the subject is hear, hear!В we don’t all have to agree with kola boof but one thing for sure she will defend the dark skinned black woman when no one else will.В i appreciate her for that.

В I have to agree. I’m a brown skinned woman & ever since I learned to breathe I’ve heard black male preference for light skinned women with “good” hair. It’s a fact, & it really hasn’t gone away as much as we’d like to think. I’m a teacher ( k-6 elementary level)В & over the years have routinely heard negative remarks from young boys about dark girls & any girl with kinky hair who wears extensions. Some will call out “she’s got a weave” & then laugh & I’ve had to stop class & read them the riot act about not disrespecting girlsВ & women WHO HAVE THE SAME KIND OF HAIR ON THEI HEADS AS THOSE BOYS DO and that humans, maleВ & female, have wornВ wigs & hairpieces for thousands of years & it’s no big deal. The girls’ feelings are hurt & I have to talk to them about self love &В pride. Light girls don’t have to face this hair/skin colorВ mess nearly asВ often.В My school is very multicultural with a lot of immigrant kidsВ & it’s embarrassing to have to deal with such nonsense in front of them. They don’t understand all the fuss over hair & skin types. The music video folks & rappers aren’t any help either. Their preference for light girls is obviousВ . I don’t thing the OP is insulting light girls at all & they shouldn’t feel bad. But you have to be honest & recognize when a problem exists

Furthermore, I think it’s a great idea that black women stop waiting around for Brothers. If there are a lot of single black women out there it’s because they CHOOSE to be single. Don’t let your prejudice’s prevent you from being happy with someone of a different race. interracial dating isn’t for everyone-but open yourself up ladies. Wake up. 100 years from now the concept of “race” will be foreign to many.

Another thought: I personally think that Billionaires/powerful men can appreciate a strong woman and that’s what increases the appeal of Black women. Billionaires are use to being surrounded by “yes” men, gold diggers and the entitled. Sistas give it to you straight-NO CHASER- are loyal, fiercely protective and still know how to be sexual and supportive. It’s a match made in heaven.

so who’s that billionaire in Burkina Faso that married a blackВ AfricanВ american ? Being from that country, I’d love to know…

I think I love u guys, Thanks for releasing this story. Watch out for me . I В WILL BE COME A MILLIONAIRE AND MARRY A BILLIONAIRE!!

…but did I miss something in the article? I thought I read that even Barack Obama married a black woman…umh
